H. Wayne Trimm Art Exhibit/Opening at the Georgi
April 28 at 7 PM, the Georgi on the Battenkill Community Park and Museum will be hosting an Art Opening in the Community Room. Artist and Illustrator, H. Wayne Trimm, will be presenting “Nature’s Wonders”, exhibiting his paintings and illustrations. Wayne was the feature artist and art director for the NYS Conservationist Magazine for 30 years and lived in Chatham in the1950s. At age 93,he is the last living founding member of the Alan Devoe Bird Club.
The subjects of his paintings are based in nature: wildlife and flowers. Wayne and his wife, Melodee, are both wildlife biologists and rehabilitators. In later years, he hosted “Outdoor World of Learning” (O.W.L.) programs, and would bring rescued owls to schools and other places to teach people about nature and birds. Wayne would demonstrate his always fit condition by holding his big Great Horned Owl on his left arm and sketch the bird’s portrait in pastel, all the while talking with the audience about “Bramble’s” features.
Steve Trimm as “Saint John Honeywood” at the Georgi
May 20 – 7PM, Community Room Steve Trimm presents live character portrayal of Saint John Honeywood. Mr Honeywood, who came to Salem in the 1780s, was a Renaissance Man: lawyer, teacher, poet, painter, amateur historian and publisher. He was also a charming, opinionated busybody who knew everybody and kept tabs on everything happening in the region – He loved to gossip about what he knew, which, on May 20th, he will…with you!
